This is what I am doing today…..

1.  making homemade chili in my new favorite Lodge Dutch Oven
2.  making homemade bread using my new favorite recipe from Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day
3.  Being thankful that my husband coming home today after being gone for 1 1/2 weeks

Hope you are having a wonderful day and weekend.  I am excited to post some great recipes, gardening plans, and food storage ideas starting on Monday.  For the rest of the weekend I am going to savor this time with my family now that we are all back together.

And now for one shameless shout out…….GO BRONCOS!!!!!!

  1. I use the basic recipe from said book and havent bought bread for 6 months now. I make 1 batch a week and it does perfect. I make mine in my dutch oven, so no need for the water/steam. Crank oven to 450, put in dutch oven to warm up for 30 minutes, let dough set on counter while oven warms, take out pot, (being very careful since is 450 degrees and all) plop in dough. cover and put back in oven for 30 min. take off lid, if not as brown as you would like, leave for another 10 min or so., Let cool completely ( which of course is hard to do). Have a great day!
